TERMS OF USE
Last updated: 14 May 2026
1. About these terms
This site is operated by Farah Shams, a sole trader in the United Kingdom (“we”, “us”). By using the site or making a donation you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
2. Donations
Donations through this site are voluntary gifts. You receive nothing in return — no goods, no services, no exclusive content, no entry to a draw. They are not charitable donations: we are not a registered charity, no Gift Aid is claimed, and your donation is not tax-deductible unless we say otherwise on the donation page itself.
Where the money goes. All donations are received via Farah's Stripe account. The recipient depends on what's active when you donate:
- No challenge active: the donation is a personal support payment to Farah.
- Challenge active, no third-party recipient named: the donation is ring-fenced toward the challenge's goal and spent by Farah at her discretion in line with the challenge's stated purpose.
- Challenge active and a third-party cause or charity is named on the challenge page: 100% of the donation, less Stripe payment-processing fees, is forwarded to that cause. Farah retains nothing from those donations.
Hosting, infrastructure, and operational costs of running this site are paid by Farah personally and are not deducted from any donation.
You confirm that the funds you donate are yours to give and that you are at least 18 years old.
3. Receipts
We do not issue separate email receipts. Your bank or card statement is your proof of payment, and Stripe (our payment processor) may send you its own confirmation. If you need a record for accounting, please keep your statement. If you genuinely can't locate the transaction, contact us through the contact form.
4. Refunds
All donations are final. Because donations are voluntary gifts with nothing given in return, statutory consumer-refund rights (such as those in the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013) do not apply.
We will, however, refund a donation in these specific cases:
- Duplicate charges caused by a technical error.
- Donations made by someone other than the cardholder without authorisation (i.e. fraud).
- Clear, demonstrable mistakes (for example, a donation of £500 where you intended £5) reported to us within 14 days.
To request a refund in one of these cases, contact us through the contact form with the date, amount, and last four digits of the card used. Nothing in this section affects your right to dispute a charge with your card issuer.
5. Leaderboard and display names
If you tick the leaderboard consent box, the public display name you choose appears alongside your donation amount on the live leaderboard. We reserve the right to hide or rename any entry that, in our reasonable judgment:
- Contains profanity, slurs, or sexually explicit content.
- Impersonates Farah, a member of her family, a brand, a public figure, or another donor.
- Promotes a third-party website, product, or political campaign.
- Contains a phone number, postal address, or other contact detail.
- Otherwise violates these terms or the law.
We use automated profanity filtering plus manual review. A hidden donation still counts toward the challenge total — only its public display is suppressed. We will not refund a donation because its display name was hidden.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the site for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could harm the site or other users.
- Attempt to bypass rate limits, security checks, or the anti-bot challenge.
- Submit false personal data, use stolen payment methods, or launder funds through the site.
- Scrape, mirror, or republish site content without our written permission.
We may suspend or block access from any user, IP, or payment method that we reasonably believe is breaching this section.
7. Content and intellectual property
All site content (text, images, branding, and code) belongs to Farah Shams or her licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual-property rights. You may view and share links to the site for personal, non-commercial use; any other use requires permission.
8. Limitation of liability
The site is provided on an “as is” basis. We do everything reasonable to keep it secure, available, and accurate, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the site.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under English law.
9. Privacy
How we handle your personal data is set out in the Privacy Notice.
10. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always the one published here, with the “last updated” date at the top. If a change is material we will flag it prominently on the homepage.
